Annual CPAC, Dragon Con 2016
First post!
It's been almost a week since Alessandra and I got back from Dragon Con. It was our first and, hopefully, it won't be our last.
Aside from the awesomeness of the con, my panel at the CPAC went far better than I could've guessed. First, over 100 people participated. I repeat: more than 100 people voluntarily showed up to talk about RPGs and philosophy, when they could've gone to any of the 40 other panels at 4:00PM that Friday (like the Buffy and Angel panel with Faith and Spike!). Second, I couldn't have asked for a better crowd. Several educators wanted to discuss pedagogy. More than half the participants were familiar with philosophy (some of them clearly knew the material at least as well if not better than me!). And everyone got really engaged in the thought experiment. Thanks again to those who showed up, and the CPAC board, especially Daniel Amrhein, who moderated my panel and was super helpful in the lead up to the con.
Aside from keeping me sane, Alessandra took lots of photos and videos. Some of the photos have been posted here and elsewhere. The videos and other materials will follow.
Until then...
